Biography

Imene Kolli is a Software Engineer specializing in Machine Learning at the Chair for Digital Health Interventions (CDHI), part of the University of Zurich’s Institute for Implementation Science in Health Care (IfIS).

Current Work

Imene is a key contributor to the PRECIOUS project, where she focuses on the development of the Digital Ethics and Regulatory Assistant. Her work centers on:

  • Designing and deploying reliable, regulation-aware AI systems.
  • Supporting ethical and evidence-based decision-making within the digital health landscape.
  • Ensuring AI interventions meet rigorous regulatory standards.

Professional Background

Prior to joining CDHI, Imene served as an NLP Engineer at the University of Zurich’s Department of Banking and Finance. During her tenure, she focused on AI applications for sustainable finance, with notable achievements including:

  • Developing large-scale document intelligence pipelines for predicting corporate climate policy engagement.
  • Building systems for the detection of climate policy lobbying.
  • Specializing in Information Retrieval (IR) and LLM-based reasoning systems.

Her industry experience spans global tech leaders, including Amazon, where she developed anomaly detection models for transportation risk, and NIO, where she focused on voice-based intelligent driving and real-time speech understanding for in-car assistants.

Education & Technical Expertise

Imene holds a Master’s degree in Data Science from TU Dortmund University.
