Christina's research investigates mental health in the context of chronic disease, and in particular depression. Methodologically, she leverages novel digital data to study mental and physical health of individuals in their daily lives (e.g., speech, text, and activity sensing data). She also specializes in natural language processing methods, such as topic modeling and fine-tuning of pre-trained language models for text classification.
In terms of her academic training, Christina earned her PhD in psychology at the Psychological Institute, University of Zurich. Her thesis focused on the link between positive autobiographical memories and individual wellbeing in daily life. During her PhD, she was also a visiting scientist at Cambridge University (MRC Cognition & Brain Sciences Unit) where she implemented a research project on the mood-repairing potential of autobiographical memories in the context of depression. Since September 2020, she holds a postdoctoral research position at the UZH Digital & Mobile Health Group (Prof. Viktor von Wyl).
